Hi! Hajimemashite!

I'm Mike Malveaux, of Tacoma, Washington, USA (near Seattle). I'm 42 years old in 2006. I really like to play Go (though I'm not terribly good at it yet). My strength is 6 kyu, more or less. If you want to play go with me online, look for "wegobad" on go servers. If you want to play in person, there are three likely spots to find me and a goban:

Cutters Point Coffee at 6th and Orchard, Tacoma; Saturdays about 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Mandolin Cafe on South 12th St., a block west of Proctor St., Tacoma; Tuesdays about 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Seattle Go Center at 700 NE 45th Street, Seattle, WA 98105, about 4 or 5 times a year, generally for tournaments

You can also find me at various tournaments in Seattle, near Portland, and sometimes in California. (Here are photos from the 2002 Cotsen Tournament in L.A., which was great!)

Go is the world's best game. So, I maintain a page of links about Go. I also kept an unofficial archive of the American Go E-Journal until I ran out of time to maintain it (here's the officially maintained AGEJ archive), and a page for Tacoma and Puget Sound area Go news and info. I also display t-shirts, mugs, etc. with Go themes I have for sale. Finally, I also participate a little at these excellent collaborative Go sites that others have established: Senseis' Library, Go Teaching Ladder, GoProblems. Most of my contributions are as "TakeNGive" and "wegobad".

I do have interests other than go -- biodiesel, snowboarding, sea kayaking, etc. The links below are here for my convenience; if you find them helpful too, then isn't life grand?
