Email details to us at journal@usgo.org CHAPTER UPDATES: ILLINOIS: Town & Gown Renamed, Growing The Town & Gown Go Club has changed its name. It is now the Evanston Go Club. "Naturally, we're still an official AGA chapter," says founder and organizer David E. Whiteside. Whiteside reports that "Since moving our club from a somewhat out of the way coffee shop to the downtown Evanston Barnes & Noble Bookstore, our weekly meetings have soared from a previous average of 6 to 8, to a new average of 16 - 18." "Credit the new visibility, the bit of publicity Barnes & Noble gives to all its sanctioned, on-premises activities, and the fabulously friendly attitude of our old core members toward newbies," says Whiteside, who adds "We even have a member who lives in Tokyo and drops by when he's laying over in Evanston -- he's Masato Fukushimaa, a Japan Airlines pilot!" More information: David E. Whiteside, dewhiteside@earthlink.net MARYLAND: Hillandale Switches to Vietnamese Food The Hillandale (MD) Go Group continues to meet every Thursday from 6 to 10:30. The restaurant changed ownership this past winter and is now called the Viet Palace. "They have added a variety of Vietnamese dishes that are quite tasty," says organizer John Goon.
