So the next ratings update will be out following the Go Congress; watch the E-Journal for an announcement about when they're posted on the AGA website. "Thanks again for the E-journal. It's a great source of the latest information! I read with interest about the upcoming tournament in Brazil. By a freak coincidence, I will be in Sao Paulo during that week for a trade show and I would like more information about that tournament." - Drew Chuppe BRAZIL (Sao Paolo): August 11 & 12 2ND Latiniberoamerican Go Tournament Hugo Scolnik: scolnik@fd.com.ar GO NEWS KIDS AT THE CONGRESS In addition to the many kids registered for the upcoming Go Congress, organizers report that Denver-area youngsters interested in participating on a more limited basis may join the Youth activities, be part of lectures, simuls, game analysis and so on, but they must register at the congress office and obtain a badge. Without the badge they cannot join any of the activities and can only be spectators and are required to behave. The youth activities will take place in the afternoon between 1:30 and 5:30 PM only in the Main Lounge of the Centennial Towers. GO DEMOCRACY Members who aren't affiliated with an official AGA chapter need to do so in order to participate in the governing process, Chapter Coordinator Bill Cobb reminds us. Voting in AGA elections for president and vice-presidents and on policy issues at the national meeting is done by chapters, with the votes weighted by the number of members in a chapter. Many AGA members are not affiliated with a chapter and so don't have the opportunity to express their views on such matters. If you'd like to join in, just check out the chapter list on the web site (www.usgo.org) and tell Sam Zimmerman (szimmerman@wareunl.com) which chapter you want to affiliate with. You don't have to be able to attend the chapter meetings in order to be affiliated. Be sure to check with the c hapter also, to find out if there are chapter dues or something and to let them know that you're on board and would like to be heard.
