At right: from left to right: Mike LePore standing, Steve Stringfellow playing White, Mike Hughes watching, Steve Huang playing Black.
For a long while, I thought Black had this in the bag, especially
when Dr. Stringfellow went into byo-yomi. Then he unleashed a
complicated ko, and Mr. Huang went into byo-yomi while fighting it.
White ended up winning on time, to my amazement; but as far as I
could tell, White was winning on the board when time expired for Black.

The photos above show the University of Puget Sound Wheelock
Center Rotunda, and bits of the gorgeous UPS campus. It was
such a bright and sunny day that the go players took refuge
in the shadow of the Rotunda.

From left:
Xing Xiong is on the edge of his seat, holding Black as he
battles Jerry Cui.
Jason Baghboudarian studies the board, giving 9 stones
to Gordon Castanza (in the striped shirt).
Richard Hu (standing) watches Steve Stringfellow (mostly hidden) and
Steve Huang playing, as do Mike LePore (standing) and Mike Hughes.
Taking a break from the onGOing action are ... shoot, I forgot her name,
but she's a friend of Greg Hatayama's, who's sitting with her. Sorry!
Same as above, except that Richard Hu is now checking out
Xiong's and Cui's game; which means that Steve Stringfellow
is a bit more visible here.
